About Karen O’Hare

Karen O’Hare is originally from Northern Ireland now based in Glasgow, Scotland.

Karen has developed, produced and distributed numerous award winning short films including including Meet Me by the Water, commissioned by the BFI/Screen Scotland’s Scottish Film Talent Network which screened on BBC Scotland in 2019 as part of Next Big Thing and Zone Out, winner of the International Epilepsy Day competition also in 2019.

In 2020 she won a BAFTA Scotland Award for her work as an Archive Producer on The War Next Door: Scotland and the Troubles , a two part documentary series for BBC Scotland.

Karen was on the 2020/21 BECTU Producer Development Programme which supports film producers making the move to producing TV drama where she was on placement on the STV Studios drama production Screw for Channel 4 and was mentored by Brian Kaczynski.

She is currently developing film & TV drama and documentary projects and seeking her first credit as a producer of TV drama.
