About Karen O’Hare

IMG_3896Karen O’Hare is a producer and project manager originally from Northern Ireland now based in Glasgow, Scotland.

Karen has developed, produced and distributed numerous award winning short films and in 2013 she produced a micro budget feature film RSJ.

Karen has also produced thousands of hours of television in Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Karen is also a film programmer and is the producer/director/founder of Southside Film Festival.

Karen is also an experienced training and development project manager and a mentor of young and new filmmakers.

Karen has attended the Arista script development workshop with Stephen Cleary and successfully completed The Writers’ Factory Introduction to Screenwriting and Feature Film courses (designed by Phil Parker) and BBC Training and Development Script writing for Television courses.

In 2015, Karen was supported by Creative Scotland to attend the Edinburgh International Television Festival. In 2014, Karen was one of four new Scottish producers supported by Creative Scotland to attend Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) and was a Participant Producer in Talent Lab, Edinburgh International Film Festival Talent Lab and at the Producers Lab, Cinemart, Rotterdam in 2013.
